Welcome
Starting therapy can be a daunting process but by reading this, you are already taking the first step on your journey. I aim to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and understand what you value. We live in a time where we are surrounded by opinions of others and it can be hard to hear our own voice.
My priority as a therapist is to help you to understand yourself and to begin to treat yourself with kindness and self compassion. We will work together to understand what your goals and needs are and create a plan that allows you to focus on the things that you value and that bring you joy.
I currently offer face-to-face therapy in Lanarkshire, Glasgow. and online.
My Role in helping you
Your therapy journey will start with us exploring the issues you are facing and understanding what you want to work on. We will work together to create a plan that works for you and I will request feedback at every stage of the process.
I will help provide you with the tools to deal with the challenges you face whether that is handling difficult thoughts, emotions or behaviours.
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in my practice but I can also blend this with other techniques including mindfulness. Mindfulness can bring you into the present moment and support you to handle challenging emotions.
I have an interest working with clients who have ADHD, whether this is formally diagnosed or not. I also work with clients struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, low-mood, phobias, and OCD.
what is cbt
CBT aims to to change the way you feel by changing the way you think and behave. It is an evidence based method, which provides you with tools which you can continue to use outside of our sessions.
We will explore patterns of thinking and behaviour together to identify the ways in which you are getting stuck. It is a practical, collaborative therapy that looks to implement real change in your life.
